San Diego County Supervisor, Terra Lawson-Remer, born and raised in San Diego’s Mission Hills neighborhood, is an economist, attorney, educator, and elected official currently serving as Vice Chair of the San Diego County Board of Supervisors for District 3. A graduate of La Jolla High School, she went on to earn a BA from Yale and both a JD and PhD in political economy from NYU. Lawson-Remer previously worked at the World Bank, served in the Obama Administration as a Senior Advisor at the U.S. Treasury, and has taught public policy at The New School and UC San Diego. Elected in 2020 and re-elected in 2024, she is also a published author and recipient of the Grawemeyer Award, certified EMT, and outdoor educator. She lives in Encinitas with her daughter Eeva Kai.
