Centered on a dog and cat, MUTTS, Patrick McDonnell’s daily comic strip, often addresses animal welfare issues – especially the adoption of homeless pets. McDonnell was a member of the Board of Directors of The Humane Society of the United States for 18 years and currently serves on the boards of The Fund for Animals and the Charles M. Schulz Museum. McDonnell was included in Dog Fancy’s top 25 “Dog World Changers” for 2015. His website, mutts.com, donates 5% of all sales to animal rescue.
