See what Sauerkraut Kitty is up to:
“Sauerkraut came to us as a foster through the Central Oklahoma Humane Society. Due to her health issues, she was possibly a breeder reject, since she was abandoned at the city shelter as a singleton. Because of overcrowding at city shelters, without the caring and astute staff and volunteers, Sauerkraut would likely have been euthanized. We are honored to have Sauerkraut support Remember Me Thursday® to help draw attention to the plight of the many adoptable family members available at shelters.”
– Amy and Patrick Bender, Sauerkraut’s “Humom” and “Pops”
Sauerkraut has become a social media celebrity through her adorable pictures and hilarious commentary. Sauerkraut has a variety of health challenges, including Feline Hyeperesthesia Syndrome, which is treated by wearing clothes which calm her and keep her from harming herself. She has used her fame to draw attention to animal fostering, adoption, and the needs and care of special needs pets. Sauerkraut tours the country to support local animal welfare organizations and raise awareness of forgotten animals which otherwise would have no voice.
