Toby (yellow lab) and Cleo (rottie)

I adopted these 2 dogs from my local shelter in 2004 to be my companions and protectors and at my new country home. Both dogs were surrendered by owners and I knew big dogs don’t get adopted as quickly; both were loving and loyal dogs all their lives. Toby never met a stranger, 2 or 4 footed; he suffered from epilepsy his whole life. Cleo was my protector … she never let anyone on the property who didn’t belong there. Toby succumbed to cancer in December 2014 at the age of 12 while my husband was fighting his own battle that he lost a few months later. Cleo died at the ripe old age of 13 in March 2016. I miss both these dogs and the lives I shared with them and my husband. I pray they are getting their ears scratched by daddy in Heaven and that I will join them someday.
